Taylor Swift recently made one fan’s week. The pop star called up a 12-year-old Chicago girl who is battling cancer.
According to NBC Chicago, the pop star phoned the young fan, Emily Beazley, after her mother tried to connect with her on social media. The call took place on Tuesday. “The smile on my daughter [is one] I have not seen in a very, very long time,” her mom, Nadia, said. “I could cry.”
Beazley was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma several years ago and was recently told by doctors that there was nothing more they could do. Her treatment has since been stopped. Her wish had been to meet, or at least chat with, Swift. And this week the fan spoke to Swift for ten minutes during which they talked about Swift’s music and how it has helped her through her battle with cancer.
Recently Swift shared with her fans that her mother is battling cancer in a heartfelt post on her Tumblr account.
