When Chris Brown performed at the Grammy Awards in February, it sparked outrage from those wondering how the Recording Academy and public alike could so quickly welcome back a man who, just three years earlier, beat his popstar girlfriend before the same event.

Now that Fortune, Brown’s fifth studio album, has been released, critics are again asking why so many people are willing to forgive the singer for his attack on Rihanna, especially when Brown continues to find his name in the press for violent incidents.

Earlier this month, Chad Taylor’s succinct review of Fortune went viral, when the Cityview music critic simply wrote: “Chris Brown hits women. Enough said.”

Now, music journalist Chris Havercroft’s scathing review of Brown’s album is being dubbed by some as the “best album review you will ever read.”

Havercroft holds nothing back as he decimates Brown’s album. “Chris Brown has released his fifth studio album — a 19-track repugnant record that we can only hope will be his last,” he wrote.

Havercroft’s doesn’t immediately go after Brown for his personal history, instead taking issue with his music. He called Brown’s song “Till I Die” a “a catastrophic misogynistic sh-t of a song,” and added that the entire album is “skitzy” with only two themes: “Unprotected sex is cool and partying is fun.”

But then Havercroft asserts that it doesn’t even matter if Brown has talent at all — there’s no conscionable reason to listen to his music:

Regardless of whether Chris Brown has any musical talent (he doesn’t) or whether this album is any good (it isn’t), the man recently brutally assaulted a woman, and is still regularly invited back to award shows and worshipped by ‘Breezy’ fans worldwide. Which is, frankly, disgusting. And for those of you out there saying you need to separate the music and the man: screw you, don’t encourage his actions. Final words: don’t buy this album.
