CW Network Is Trying To Angle A New Series Based Off "THE NOTEBOOK"

If the last time you watched The Notebook  you thought, “Hey, I wish this story could continue in a serialized format,” good news, because your dreams might soon come true. According to Entertainment Weekly, a Notebook TV show is in the works at the CW, home of legendary romances Gossip Girl andThe Vampire Diaries. “This series will follow the romantic journey of the two beloved central characters Noah and Allie, at the outset of their blossoming relationship as they build their lives and their future together against the backdrop of the racial politics, economic inequities, and social mores of post-World War II of the late 1940s in North Carolina,” EW reports. Translation: The times when they kissed a lot.

Nicholas Sparks, who wrote the novel on which the 2004 movie is based, will serve as an executive producer. The show hasn’t yet been greenlit to series, so hopefully the pilot will be all rainy makeout scenes and the relevant executives will just be like, “Yes, this looks great. Give me more.”
