The Slim Shady LP was Eminem’s second release and first major label studio album put out via Shady Records and Dr. Dre’s Aftermath Ent. It is ultimately what kicked off Mathers’ career as the biggest rap act of all-time, sales wise.
It’s a questionable move, sure – most people don’t even have cassette players, and they don’t hold the same vintage appeal as vinyls.
Billboard noted that Eminem’s “The Slim Shady LP” made noise when it was released on February 23, 1999. The album quickly gained traction and landed the number two spot on Billboard 200 that time. Some notable songs that appeared on the album where “My Name Is”, “Just Don’t Give a F*ck” and “Guilty Conscience”.
The rapper will perform in Argentina, Brazil and Chile in March 2016 alongside fellow headliners Florence + The Machine.
