Sesac's Latin Grammy® Winner Erika Ender Co-Writes Luis Fonsi's Latest Single "Despacito" Featuring Daddy Yankee

Universal Music is undertaking a major launch of new music from the Latin pop legend Luis Fonsi – his single “Despacito” (Slow), featuring Daddy Yankee and co-written by the SESAC Latina affiliate Erika Ender alongside Fonsi.

In a statement, Universal noted Erika Ender’s co-writing, along the single’s “masterful fusion of Latin rhythms.” The record company also highlighted the lyrics, which “in addition to being sensual, speak of Fonsi’s native Puerto Rico.” Teaming up with Daddy Yankee creates a perfect combination.

Acclaimed for her versatility and her ability to surprise us, Erika Ender is the music world’s most prominent female artist from Panama. She has been named by Forbes and People En Español in their “most powerful” personalities lists.

Ender, a recent Latin GRAMMY® winner “Best Regional Mexican Song 2016” for her composition “Ataud” recorded by Los Tigres Del Norte, has songs that have appeared in over 160 albums, including by artists such as Gilberto Santa Rosa, Chayanne, Calibre 50, Ednita Nazario, Mijares, La Original Banda El Limón, and Gloria Trevi (“Cinco Minutos” Billboard Latin Awards Song of the Year 2009).

“Despacito” is to be accompanied by a massive promotional campaign that includes premieres of the music video on NBC/Telemundo on January 12, 2017. Luis Fonsi notes that he is “extremely proud” of this single.
