Will Smith dropped by “Late Show,” and dropped some rhymes as well. On his way to the desk, he grabbed the microphone from Paul Schaffer and broke into a few verses from his hit, “Summertime.”
He explained that he sometimes just feels the need to rap. He stayed in a jovial mood, even when Letterman brought up those rumors about Will’s son, Jaden. The rumors are that Jaden wants to be legally emancipated from his parents, Will and Jada Pinkett Smith.
“I was in Tokyo or something where I made a joke about him being emancipated and that kind of took off,” Smith said. He went on to lay out a scenario by which Jaden could leave, joking that “if he had a movie that’s bigger than my movies, then he can go ahead.”
The father-and-son duo, who appear together in the upcoming film “After Earth,” talked about the rumors on “Ellen” recently, too. Jaden joked that everything is free in his father’s house, so he won’t be leaving for another two or three decades, at least.
