While performing at a recent concert in Detroit, Kelly Clarkson paid tribute to a certain celebrity hometown icon.
At her concert over the weekend, the 30-year-old pop singer took a request from a fan and performed Eminem’s popular song “Lose Yourself.”
Before getting started, Clarkson donned a gray hooded sweatshirt, sporting a look similar to the rapper in his music video for the 2002 hit single.
In the video posted on YouTube, Clarkson can be seen bouncing around the stage as she sings the fast-paced track.
Even though “Lose Yourself” is far from Clarkson’s usual style, the former “American Idol” winner recently spoke out about her desire to not stick to one specific genre of music.
“People act like there’s this one set of rules to follow to be a pop star and I think, ‘Well, you say I’m a pop singer, so maybe that’s not true,” she told the August issue of Lucky magazine. “Even though I’m a pop singer, I really have more the life of a country singer.”
