According to TMZ, Lohan maintains she’s staying away from booze as part of her rehab program and that she only tested positive for alcohol due to her favorite kombucha tea. The fermented drink contains less than 0.05 percent alcohol, but may have caused the positive test results.
“I am responsible, and I’m following the rules and obeying my judge and the Los Angeles judicial system,” Lohan told TMZ after the court hearing, adding she just wants to move on with her life after she completes her house arrest sentence next week.
“I’d like to do what I must to get my film career back and the respect of directors, actors, writers, studio heads, fans and so on,” she said.
This isn’t the first time the kombucha tea has caused problem for the recovering actress. She made headline in March when she was spotted with the tea, and it was reported the “alcoholic” drink was added as an infraction on her probation report.
Judge Stephanie Sautner ruled in favor of Lohan in court yesterday, declaring that the actress only had to submit to drug tests between February 3 and February 25, therefore throwing out claims the positive alcohol test violated her probation.
Sautner put no limitations on Lohan’s alcohol consumption, but did scold her for being guilty of “poor judgement” when she threw a party at her home while serving her sentence.
