The new “Marvel‘s Agents of SHIELD” premiere is easily one of the most anticipated television shows of the 2013 fall lineup.  Fans of the popular “Avengers” or other Marvel superheroes are already awaiting the date and time for episode 1 to arrive, and it’s on the way for Tuesday on ABC.  The popularity of the show has already revealed itself ahead of any spoilers, with the online social media fan campaign really taking off.

A Sept. 22 report via Deadline.com indicates that the buzz behind the new comic-book-based TV series has been enough to bring fans to the “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” Facebook page in droves.  The page reportedly surpassed 1 million fans just yesterday, showing just how big the Marvel Universe really is, online.  In terms of the top five Facebook pages for new TV shows, “The Originals” from CW ranks second with 528,690 fans, followed by ABC’s “Once Upon a Time In Wonderland” with 498,846 fans.  In fourth place is Fox’s “Sleepy Hollow” at 362,013 fans followed by “Dracula” from NBC at 215,295 fans.

“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” certainly has the hype behind it, and is led by Clark Gregg, known for his Agent Phil Coulson role in the various films (“Iron Man,” “The Avengers,” “Thor” and “Captain America.”)  Not only does it have the popular agent from the films back from the dead, but it also has director Joss Whedon (“Avengers”) and his brother among the executive production team, which has given fans plenty of reason to be excited for the new ABC series.  It will feature thirteen episodes for the first season, with the first arriving on Tuesday, Sept. 24.

The premier episode is called “Pilot” and will air on ABC beginning at 8 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on Tuesday.  There’s at least two more episode titles already give, with “0-8-4” set to air Oct. 1 and “The Asset” to air on Oct. 8 via ABC.  Fans can also watch episodes online, about a day after they’ve aired on television.  Check out ABC.go.com here for a sneak peek at the first episode.
