Police Issue Alert With Concerns On The Well-Being And Whereabouts Of Irish Singer Sinead O’Connor

Police are searching on Monday (May 16) for Sinead O’Connor, who was reported missing after being seen riding a bicycle in the Chicago suburb of Wilmette on Sunday.

“The Wilmette Police is seeking to check the well-being of Sinead O’Connor,” the police department told Billboard in a statement. “O’Connor reportedly left the Wilmette area for a bicycle ride yesterday at 6:00 a.m. and has not returned. A caller has expressed concern for her well-being and no other information is available at this time.”

According to TMZ, someone had called police to report that she hadn’t returned a bike after leaving for a ride at 1 p.m. that afternoon (which conflicts with the police report). The site also says police are classifying O’Connor as “missing suicidal.”

O’Connor has recently made news for alleging that Arsenio Hall gave Prince drugs over the years. Hall hit back with a $5 million lawsuit for defamation.

The singer has also had a history of mental health issues, including a misdiagnosed bipolar disorder, PTSD and depression. O’Connor had a suicide scare last year after family issues became public. In 2013, she opened up to Fuse about her mental health:
