Rub Elbows with William and Kate – for $4,000

Finally, here’s your chance to spend some quality time withPrince William and Duchess Catherine.

The royal newlyweds, who maketheir big North American trip next month, will attend the July 9 Foundation Polo Challenge at the Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club in California. It’s the one event on their U.S. tour that’s open to the public.
While $400 a pop will get you inside, it costs $4,000 a person to brush elbows with the VIPs seated in the royal couple’s section.

Regardless of the section purchased, Brian Worley, the creative director of the event, assures that “everyone who attends will feel like a VIP.” While the menu differs between VIP guests and club guests, all of the food will be “delicious,” he says.

The people in the VIP tent will be served a three-course lunch, along with some passed appetizers. “Giada De Laurentiis will create the menu with recipes from her family,” Worley tells PEOPLE. “She wants to create a down-home, rustic feel. She’s trying to stick with things that are organic and fresh.”

Folks in the club section will receive gourmet boxed lunches.

Of course, security will be high, as usual for an event that William and Kate, both 29, are attending. “It will be a little different than a normal club day,” says Glen Holden, ambassador of the club. “We will provide more and very synchronized security. Some of the shoulders of the roads nearby will be closed off.”

Holden says he’s excited “beyond belief” about the event, adding that William and Kate are the “most wonderful people to work with. They answer their telephone calls and emails immediately.”
