The CW has finally found its Carrie Bradshaw, the role originally made famous by Sarah Jessica Parker in the HBO hit “Sex and the City.”
After months of speculation, the lucky actress playing Bradshaw in the CW prequel, “The Carrie Diaries,” is AnnaSophia Robb, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Robb, 18, is perhaps best known for her role in 2007′s “Bridge to Terabithia.”
Based on the novel by Candace Bushnell, “The Carrie Diaries” focuses on a young Carrie Bradshaw — before the Manolo Blahniks — as she grows up in a small town during the 1980s, learning about love, sex, friendship and family while still balancing the day-to-day drama of high school.
“Running Wilde” actress Stefania Owen will co-star opposite Robb. According to EW, Owen will play Carrie’s younger sister, Dorrit.
