We knew will.i.am’s music was out of this world, but the Black Eyed Peas front man is taking his next single to a whole other level. Appropriately titled ‘Reach for the Stars,’ the song will debut tomorrow (Aug. 28) on the planet Mars.
The producer/rapper has teamed up with NASA to debut the track through the speakers of the Curiosity rover, which landed on the red planet earlier this month on a fact-finding mission. NASA officials will host a special listening event for students at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California, where will.i.am will premiere his new composition, an ode to science, technology and space exploration.
The ‘This Is Love’ singer’s i.am.angel Foundation, in partnership with Discovery Education of Silver Spring, Maryland, will also announce a new science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics initiative featuring NASA assets such as the Mars rover Curiosity. The event will be streamed on the agency’s website and broadcast on NASA TV.
