“Just be who you are,” Selena Gomez reminds herself in a new trailer for a doc offering a candid look inside her life and struggles with mental health. “No one cares about what you’re doing. It’s about who I am, being okay with where I am. I am grateful to be alive,” she emphasizes.

Spanning six years, “Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me” offers an intimate portrait of the “Lose You to Love Me” singer and “Only Murders in the Building” actress, revealing an “unexpected turn pulls her into darkness” and following her “journey into a new light,” per the film’s synopsis.

The spot revisits how Gomez, a Grammy nominee who has sold more than 210 million singles worldwide, was diagnosed with depression and anxiety, as well as lupus. “Let me make a promise: I am going to stop living like this. How do I learn to breathe my own breath again?” she asks. The global superstar admits that she’s been haunted by the belief that she’s “not good enough” for years. She’s also tired of the spotlight. Gomez has been working since a kid, and doesn’t want to be “super famous” anymore. “I do know if I’m here I have to use that for good,” she says. “Clearly I’m still here to use whatever I have to help someone else.” The activist explains, “What makes me happy is connection, and it helps me get out of my head.”

“Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me” launches on Apple TV+ November 4.
