LATINAFest®, the largest outdoor festival on the West Coast celebrating all things Latina, will pay tribute to Latina pioneers during Women’s History Month at their 5th annual event themed LATINAFest: Sembrando and Cultivating our Future. The one-day festival, sponsored by Chase, will take place on Sunday, March 19 from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM at LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes located at 501 N Main St., Los Angeles 90012.
“It is an honor to celebrate National Women’s Month with the return of Chase as our title sponsor for the third consecutive year. Together we continue the work of providing tools and resources to the dynamic community of Latinas entrepreneurs as they grow their businesses,” said Bel Hernandez, co-founder LATINAFest.
This year LATINAFest pays homage to Latina pioneers, past and present, who planted the seeds that have inspired generations of women to follow in their footsteps. Some of these Latinas include actress Lynda Carter (Wonder Woman), union organizer Dolores Huerta, feminist artist Frida Kahlo, actress María Félix, actress and EGOT winner Rita Moreno, and Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor.
“This year we chose to honor history-making women who look like us,” said LATINAFest co-founder, Naibe Reynoso. “These women were pioneers in their fields. They inspired us and became our “superheroes” because we saw ourselves in them, and they keep inspiring new generations.”
As part of their commitment to empowering Latina entrepreneurs, Chase will once again partner with LATINAFest for the third consecutive year to present the $5,000 LATINAFest Hero Women Rising Entrepreneur Grant which will be awarded to a Latina entrepreneur who has shown growth, leadership, innovation and commitment to the community. Five semi-finalists will be selected and the grant winner will be announced at LATINAFest on March 19th.
“As the fastest-growing segment, Latina entrepreneurs are the backbone of our economy,” said Silvana Montenegro, Global Head of Advancing Hispanics & Latinos at JPMorgan Chase. “Providing them with the tools and resources they need to succeed is key to supporting a stronger economic foundation for all. We are proud to support LATINAFest’s mission to empower Latina business owners across the nation.”
Chase will once again host the Chase Pavilion at LATINAFest, which consists of 10 local Latino/a-owned businesses who have successfully grown their companies through the Chase for Business Mentorship Program. The program is designed to help minority entrepreneurs grow and scale their businesses with resources tailored to start-ups, one-on-one coaching, access to professional development opportunities, educational seminars and streamlined banking and credit solutions. It is part of JPMorgan Chase’s $30 billion racial equity commitment that accelerates minority small business growth in historically underserved neighborhoods. Additionally, Chase will donate 50 admission tickets to attend LATINAFest to non-profit organizations in Los Angeles to give to their constituents to come and enjoy the festivities.

El festival de un día, patrocinado por Chase, se llevará a cabo el domingo 19 de marzo de 11:00 a.m. a 6:00 p.m. en LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes ubicada en 501 N Main St., Los Ángeles 90012.

Como parte de su compromiso de empoderar a las empresarias Latinas, Chase se asociará una vez más con LATINAFest para el tercer año consecutivo para presentar la subvención LATINAFest Hero Women Rising Entrepreneur de $5,000 que se otorgará a una empresaria latina que haya demostrado crecimiento, liderazgo, innovación y compromiso con la comunidad. Se seleccionarán cinco semifinalistas y la ganadora de la subvención se anunciará en LATINAFest el 19 de marzo.
