After 16 Years In Leading Fashion, Massimiliano Giornetti Will Be Retiring From Fashion Line Salvatore Ferragamo

CEO of Salvatore Ferragamo Michele Norsa yesterday announced the departure of the label’s creative director Massimiliano Giornetti. In charge of both menswear and womenswear collections for the label since 2011, the designer’s Fall/Winter 2016-2017 collection unveiled at Milan Fashion Week will have been his final collection for Salvatore Ferragamo.

Following the departure of Raf Simons from Dior and Alber Elbaz from Lanvin in October 2015, it has just been announced that Massimiliano Giornetti will leave Italian label Salvatore Ferragamo. The label’s CEO Michele Norsa made the official announcement yesterday. Having worked for the label since 2000, Massimiliano Giornetti initially designed for the menswear department but was promoted to creative director in 2011 for both menswear and womenswear following his debut womenswear collection for Fall/Winter 2010-2011. Presented at Milan Fashion Week in February, the designer’s Fall/Winter 2016-2017 collection was his last for Salvatore Ferragamo.
