Miami, FL. (May 26, 2023). Mauro Castillo, the award-winning Colombian artist known for his infectious energy and incredible versatility, is welcoming summer 2023 with the release of his poignant new album “Inteligencia Artificial,” available today on all digital platforms.

Built on a theme of the highest relevance in today’s world, “Inteligencia Artificial” focuses on our complicated relationship with technology and the toll it takes on our minds and on society, as well as how it influences us to make decisions that might not be aligned with our own desires.

Produced by Mauro Castillo with Oscar Ivan Lozano and Carlos “El loco” Bedoya,mixed by Bedoya and Castillo  and mastered by Boris Milan, “Inteligencia Artificial” is a compelling modern-retro fusion created with a linear discourse and best understood when the songs are heard in order. The track list features both original compositions and sensational covers of hits by Supertramp (breakfast in America) and Los Guaracheros de Oriente (Lafiesta no es para feos), encouraging and reminding us that, when it comes to artificial intelligence, we should strive to receive and interact with it without losing sight of our humanity.

Delivering irresistible melodies and intoxicating rhythms, “Inteligencia Artificial” maintains the shimmering sonic vibrance for which Castillo has become known and loved by fans all over the world while also echoing the theme of migration that runs through the track list by capturing the invigorating, retro-flecked energy of New York salsa and bringing it to the next level with new sounds such as the classic Colombian instrument called the Marimba de Chonta and sizzling electric guitars.

Castillo Also Acts as an Opera Tenor in “Al otro Lado”. The album also includes Castillo’s latest single “Algo-Ritmo,” the music video for which fans can enjoy starting today on his official YouTube channel. Produced and directed by Tatiana Rojas, the clip was filmed in New York, Orlando, and Miami, and in Bogota, Cali, and Medellín, Colombia, and gives viewers a subjective look at the relationship between humans and social platform algorithms.

Social media has conditioned us to sacrifice who we are in order to win public approval and attain more “likes” than anyone else, leaving us to share the kind of content that the platforms prioritize instead of what most aligns with our hearts and values. This video is a thought-provoking exploration of how, when we behave this way, we become just another migrant searching for our identity within the chaos of the digital world.
