Los Angeles, CA (October 12, 2018) — Le Butcherettes releases new video, strong/ENOUGH as an exclusive premiere with Rolling Stone Magazine today. The video was filmed in Los Angeles and directed by Gus Black, who has also directed videos for Deftones, Sheryl Crow, Gary Clark Jr. and The Used among other artists.
The song is a raw and stark call to overcome the abuse in a relationship and to have the courage to walk away from someone who hurts you. The video is widely based on the line in the chorus, ‘my heart is headed out the door’. Frontwoman Teresa Suárez Coscío (Teri Gender Bender) appears in the video dressed as a heart, facing her everyday life and eventually meeting up with the band at a well-known Hollywood Hills mansion known as ‘The Box House’ for a performance.
“strong/ENOUGH is an ode of self-empowerment and about surviving abuse. Elvin Estela (AKA DJ Nobody) and I wrote the music to the song and Jerry Harrison (The Talking Heads, Modern Lovers) produced it, Alejandra Robles Luna on drums, Marfred Rodriguez Lopez on bass and Rikardo on synths and myself on guitars… giving the song the roots of multiple worlds; footwork & rock n’ roll,” commented Teri.
strong/ENOUGH is the third single from forthcoming album of what will be Le Butcherettes fourth studio album and the first under Rise Records. The album is slated to be released in February 2019 and was produced by Jerry Harrison (keyboardist and guitarist of Talking Heads) who has had an extensive career as a producer, including No Doubt albums, Violent Femmes, Live and KD Lang, among much others.
“The music video was directed by talented Gus Black within the heart of the city of Los Angeles. It beholds a story of a lonely-deformed heart, packs it’s bags and goes out into the world in search of a new life despite the obstacle that it has to go through. We don’t have to be the strongest spirits but just enough to go on,” adds Teri Gender Bender.
After the release of strong/ENOUGH, Le Butcherettes will headline, Mujeres Sin Fronteras (Women Without Borders) a mini-tour, presented by Grrrl Independent Ladies and includes the following dates:
· October 18 – San Diego CA, Casbah
· October 19 – Tijuana MX, Moustache Bar
· October 20 – Los Ángeles CA, Hi Hat
The band will tour in November with Death from Above and will visit Texas, Tennessee, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, New York, Kentucky, Louisiana and close the year with a show in Puebla, Mexico in December at Festival Catrina.
