“The Barcelona singer sticks to her synth-heavy, sticky-sweet sound on an album that’s meant to signal her arrival as a global force” –Pitchfork
Since Bad Gyal’s version of Rihanna’s ‘Work’ became a viral phenomenon less than two years ago, the road has been an extraordinary sequence of steps forward. She has released some of the most played Spanish urban tracks such as ‘Fever’, ‘Mercadona’ or ‘Indapanden’ and the mixtape, ‘Slow Wine’, which profiled her as the first female dancehall artist in the state. Recently Bad Gyal released her new mixtape, ‘Worldwide Angel’ Dubbel Dutch, Paul Marmota & Fakeguido.
***Note: Bad Gyal will only be at our 3/14 show***
“Christina Rosenvinge y el feminismo que da miedo a los hombres” – El País
Christina Rosenvinge presents “Un Hombre Rubio”, her tenth solo album.
Beginning with Romance de la Plata, a song dedicated to her father. Rosenvinge storms a fortress of masculine emotions by assuming different male identities: a father, a son, a lover, leaving open the possibility through the use of the third person pronoun that she is actually talking about herself… or should we say about himself? The album includes nine powerful and classical tracks which she produced and were recorded in Madrid by Dany Richter, with the musicians who have accompanied her live on her latest tour Juan Diego Gosalvez, David Tuya Ginzo and Manuel Cabezali.
“…The Arrow Of Our Youth” is a lovely indie pop song about love lost, featuring pristine guitars, upbeat drums, and ghostly vocals” – Remezcla
The Zephyr Bones‘ hazy, melodic, psychedelic rockers with memories that span the distance between their native Chile and their current home of Barcelona. “Secret Place” synthesizes their guitar-oriented dream pop into their own unique brand of beach wave. Their latest video, “The Arrow of our Youth” was just released last week and stars American actor, Danny Trejo and is part of their new album, “Secret Place”
“…sus conciertos son ya celebraciones dionisíacas” – MondoSonoro
Joe Crepúsculo is a singer-songwriter and one of the most unique and creative characters in Spain. He has released eight albums during his career. His shows include a vast showcase of culture and latin folklore that in his hands creates the freedom he enjoys and a rare impudence.
Crepúsculo’s latest release, Disco duro (El Volcán Música / Ópalo Negro, 2017), includes twelve songs to dance, laugh and think at the same time. Once again, Joe Crepúsculo has reinvented himself for his eighth album incorporating his personal sound everything that he has been finding along the way during these years, without any prejudice and always guided by an unprecedent intuition in the Spanish music.
“Crashpad, el nuevo disco de Neuman, es una vuelta a casa, como la de Odiseo tras la Guerra de Troya” – RTVE Radio 3
2017 marked a milestone in Spanish music, as Neuman became one of the most important cult bands in the Spain with the release of their latest album Crashpad, which has amazed the critics and made them reach a unanimous verdict: the album is one of the greatest of the year and a masterpiece. The reception of the album has been massive and incredibly positive, the album reached the number six spot in record sales charts in Spain.
Los Wilds destroyed SXSW 2017, being the Spanish band that performed at more concerts at SXSW. Their shows in the US gained fans such as, Jared Swilley of The Black Lips. Their music is loaded with a garage rock sound that will make you want to dance to songs like garage punk single, ‘No Me Toques Mamá’ that has already become a hit at their shows in Spain.
