Vin Diesel’s ‘Rap’ Past Unearthed With Leaked Track

Before he was an actor, Vin Diesel tried his hand at rapping and evidence of this less than successful career attempt has surfaced by way of a recording of Vin spitting some sorry lines over a Arthur Russell beat circa 1986.

Back in those days he was known as Mark Sinclair Vincent, and he teamed up with the late experimental composer and post-disco producer Arthur Russell to record an aborted demo, recently rediscovered by songwriter, guitarist and music enthusiast Gary Lucas.

According to the track’s SoundCloud page, Lucas happened upon Diesel “rapping and break-dancing on the streets of the West Village.” “Party people! It’s time to get stupid!” the then 19-year-old new York City native laughs into the mic as Russell’s beat drops.

All we can say is, it’s a good thing the now 43-year-old Diesel made it big as a pumped-up bada– in movies like ‘The Fast and the Furious‘ and ‘XXX.’
