SNL’s ‘Weekend Update’ Summer Edition Will Be Airing On Thursday

“Live From New York, it’s …” a little early.

Currently with 22 Emmy Award bids, “Saturday Night Live” traditionally doesn’t start new episodes until the end of the fall television season’s first week, but so much clearly has been happening in the world – especially politically – one of its most popular elements is returning on its own sooner. “Saturday Night Live: Weekend Update” starts a four-episode NBC run this Thursday, Aug, 10, with Colin Jost and Michael Che back at the desk to deliver comedic takes on the headlines. Other “SNL” regulars are slated to make appearances as well.

Emmy nominee Alec Baldwin’s portrayal of President Donald Trump has been an “SNL” standout lately. Especially since he is New York-based, and has signed up to recur in the show’s new season, it’s nearly impossible to think he won’t factor into the “Weekend Update” spinoff somehow.
