Adele To Receive The Largest Contract Deal Ever Recorded To Any Artist Ever

“Today’s front page of The Sun screams: “£90m($130.4 Million USD) Adele – superstar’s record British music deal”.

With this, the “Hello” hit-maker will top Robbie Williams’ previously record-breaking deal when FMI paid him 80 million euros in 2002.

It would also be the biggest contract ever secured by a female artist, dwarfing he £70m deal Whitney Huston got from Artista in 2001.

The deal was brokered by Adele’s manager, Jonathan Watkins, but has been kept under wraps.

Representatives for Sony and Adele declined to comment.

Sony also hold the record for giving the biggest recording contract in history, signing a £164m deal ($250m) with Michael Jackson’s estate nine months after the singer’s death in 2009.

The independent label had signed her at the age of 19, and her phenomenal success has been seen as a massive, almost-unprecedented victory for independent music in the modern era.

Adele started her career in 2006 with XL Recordings.

‘We have secured the biggest music star in a generation. Adele had been with XL Recordings since her career began in 2006, but switching to Sony will give her even more exposure in the massive US market.

“The deal is being worked on by our Columbia label in the USA but is worth £90 million”, a source from Sony said, The Sun reported.

She’s now said to be worth £85 million ($123 million), which would be doubled with the signing of this deal.

According to TVNZ, Adele, a native of London, England, walked away with the award for her record-breaking album, 25, beating out Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Drake, and The Weeknd.
