American Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy has tweeted that former American Horror Story and Nashville actress Connie Britton is the latest to join the growing cast on his new show American Crime Story.
As we previously reported, American Crime Story is a new miniseries for FX that will focus on famous American crimes. The first will be based on the infamous O.J. Simpson trial from 1994 which saw Simpson famously acquitted for the brutal murder of ex wife Nicole Brown Simpson and waiter friend Ronald Goldman.
Connie Britton will play Faye Resnick, a friend of Nicole Brown Simpson, who gave evidence at the trial. She was gossip column fodder after posing for Playboy and writing a rather telling book about her friendship with Simpson. She has recently been seen stirring up trouble on Bravo’s Real Housewives of Beverly Hills for which she is known as the “morally corrupt Faye Resnick”.
This looks to be a great show with some fantastic casting with Cuba Gooding Jr. as Simpson and Courtney B. Vance as Johnnie Cochran. Also heading up the defence team is David Schwimmer as Robert Kardashian and John Travolta as Robert Shapiro and American Horror Story favourite Sarah Paulson will play prosecutor Marcia Clark.
American Crime Story is set to premiere on FX sometime in 2016.
