There is no denying that Ana De La Reguera is proud of her Mexican heritage. And apparently her home country is quite proud of her too, as they’ve chosen her to help carry their torch at the 2012 Summer Games.
De La Reguera will be representing Mexico at the special ceremony, which will take place before the Games kick off on July 27. Though she won’t be carrying the torch very far, Ana told People en Español that she’s very excited about the honor.
“In July I will run and carry the torch a few meters,” she said. “I’ll be in London for at least 15 days or less, also traveling a bit to learn about the Olympic experience, which is amazing.”
And don’t count Mexico out when the Games kick in. They’ve got some stellar track and fútbol athletes, who may just walk away with some hefty gold medals when it’s all said and done!
