Good news, Barden Bella fans, filming for Pitch Perfect 3 is finally in session.
The movie, which is coming to cinemas next year, started shooting this week, and lead actress Anna Kendrick thought she’d celebrate the occasion with an aca-awesome Instagram picture.
And here’s some even better news: the gang is definitely getting back together for the Bellas’ third outing.
Judging by the snap, the movie is bringing back most of the franchise’s original cast; including Kendrick, Brittany Snow, Rebel Wilson, Chrissie Fit, Shelley Regner, Ester Dean, Hana Mae Lee, Anna Camp, and Kelley Jakle.
And while we’re glad to see class finally in session, the third instalment definitely hasn’t been without its setbacks.
First, there was the devastating news that Skylar Astin and the rest of the Trebles wouldn’t be returning for the third movie.
Secondly, the movie’s release date was pushed back a whole five months, which made us even more anxious.
And then we had to come to terms with the fact that it would not be directed by Elizabeth Banks.
Stepping in to replace Banks though is OK Go music video extraordinaire Trish Sie, so we’re pretty confident the threequel is in good hands.
Sie directed the band’s iconic music videos ‘Upside Down & Inside Out’ and ‘Here It Goes Again’.
She has also directed Step Up: All In, so she’s very familiar with performance-based movie franchises, thank you very much.
Pitch Perfect 3 will be in cinemas December 22, 2017.
