With True Blood in its seventh and final season, Anna Paquin is making the change from vampire lover to mermaid! Last night, the star took to Twitter to reveal her purple-tinted strands, which were complemented by a few blue highlights striped onto her lower layers.

she tweeted, before asking her husband Stephen Moyer for his thoughts. No surprise to us, he loved her new look.

(She really is Mrs. Emery, apparently. As her husband told Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon last night, he was born Stephen Emery but changed his last name because there was another actor named Stephen Emery.)
Paquin’s last big hair change took place in the early 2000s, when she added bold red highlights to her natural brunet hue to play Rogue in X-Men. Her True Blood-era blond shade has become her signature in recent years, though we figured something was up when the actress hinted at a hair change during a recent Twitter Q&A earlier this month.
“She’s ballsy, ya know,” Moyer previously told us on his wife’s style. “She’ll do something elegant one night and something else the next, and I love how she does it. I love watching her create what she’s gonna do.”
