If you ask us, it’s about time The Expendables added some Latino flavor. Now three movies in, the action hero franchise has signed Antonio Banderas as its first Hispanic lead.
Banderas is joining a massive cast of A-listers, which includes Sylvester Stallone, Harrison Ford, Wesley Snipes and Jackie Chan. Mel Gibson was also added to the roster this week, fresh off his Machete Kills cameo.
We’re especially stoked to have Antonio on board. As you may recall, he’s had an action-heavy past, with roles in two Zorro movies, El Mariachi and Once Upon A Time In Mexico.
Of course if The Expendables really wants to diversify its credits, we recommend adding Danny Trejo and Zoe Saldana to the mix. They’ve both kicked some major big screen butt in the past year and would help bring in even more Latino moviegoers.
