Britney Spears has a long history of lip-synching her live performances but all that is set to change next year at her ‘Piece Of Me’ Las Vegas shows.
The ‘Work B***h’ singer wants to wow her fans with her vocals rather than her dance moves at the Planet Hollywood shows. Fans have previously complained about Brit miming, particularly because the tickets for her shows are so expensive. A representative for Britney revealed: “Britney will be singing. As stated before, she is in vocal training —has been for months.”
It had been reported that Britney would not be performing live with a source telling NY Daily News: “Britney does not sing. She is being paid a lot of money to lip-sync. Her fans are none the wiser, but it is disingenuous of her to take their cash and not deliver a proper performance.”
When Britney announced the Sin City residency she also spoke about what kind of songs her fans could expect to hear. “I’m going to definitely do the greatest hits, but I’m going to have to put some of my new material in it to just keep it fresh,” she said on GMA.
So far only 16 dates have been confirmed, but Britney will be performing 50 shows in 2014 and 2015. With tickets priced between $59 and $179, it is estimated that the ‘Toxic’ singer will be earning $15 million a year.
Britney is expected to release her eighth studio album on December 3 this year.
