“Star Wars” icon Carrie Fisher is eager to make an appearance in Disney’s new take on the sci-fi franchise.
Creator George Lucas has sold the production company behind the phenomenally successful movie series to Disney in a deal worth a staggering $4 billion. The newly-owned Lucasfilm team will now get to work on three new films, of which the first, “Star Wars: Episode Vll,” will follow 1983’s “Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi” in the franchise’s timeline.
The news has sent fans into a spin about the possible return of original stars Fisher, Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford, and the actress — who played Princess Leia — seems willing to reprise her role. When asked if she would like to return to the series, she tells TMZ, “Yes, sure. … Wouldn’t you?”
