Channing & Jenna Dewan Tatum Working On New Dance Competition Show With A Very Different Focus

Channing and Jenna Dewan Tatum, America’s power couple in dance, have finally found a way to share their hard-earned skills with the rest of us. The pair have teamed up for an untitled dance competition series on NBC, which the network promises is a “fresh take” on the genre, if that’s even possible at this point. Dewan Tatum, who met her husband on the set of the dance-centric Step Up and who started her career as a backup dancer for Janet Jackson, will serve as a judge and mentor on the series.

Sadly, Channing—what with his Men in Black crossover and superhero leanings and all the rest—will only make occasional appearances on the show, making him the Jeffrey Garten to Jenna’s Barefoot Contessa. (Like you wouldn’t watch that version of this show). Still, some Channing Tatum on primetime television is better than none at all, and NBC, which is hanging in there with the ratings largely on the strength of The Voice, will have landed a new reality sensation with an extra starpower hook, not unlike the personalities that have drivenLip Sync Battle over on Spike.

Given that it’s the Tatums’ appearance on Lip Sync Battle that likely inspired this whole thing, that’s an appropriate way for it all to come full-circle, right?

And in case you needed any more proof of Jenna Dewan Tatum’s impressive dance bona fides, we’ve got you covered.
