Charlie Sheen Shopping New Sitcom: Who “Really Wants This Show”?!

Maybe the question should be, who doesn’t want a piece of Charlie Sheen‘s sure-to-be epic comeback?

Well, besides CBS, of course.

The somewhat abashed actor has recently been sitting in on pitch meetings in New York and Los Angeles for his proposed new sitcom, based loosely on the Jack Nicholson-starring comedy Anger Management, a source close to Sheen confirms to E! News.

So, who have his people been talking to—and more importantly, who’s biting?

We’re told that Sheen and his team at Lionsgate TV, who are hoping to start shooting a pilot very early next year, have pitched the series to all the major broadcast networks—except CBS, naturally—as well as several cable networks, including Comedy Central, USA and FX.

All networks where medium-gauge swearing and racy material, not to mention characters, are welcome.

Then again, TV Land has also heard the pitch, according to, so maybe Sheen is thinking more Hot in Cleveland than It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia for his return to the small screen.

A source tells E! that Comedy Central, where the ego-assaulting roast of Sheen broke viewer records, “really wants this show,” but no deal has been made as yet.

A rep for Sheen had no comment on his latest career move.

Jury’s still out on whether his humble appearance at the Emmys was one of his best performances in years, but if it was the real deal, Sheen’s new sitcom would mark his first acting job since Team Two and a Half Men kicked him to the curb.

E! News has exclusively learned, meanwhile, that Sheen starts shooting the film A Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charlie Swan III this week in L.A.
