Cher's Dressed to Kill Tour Postponed After Severe Viral Infection

Legendary singer Cher announced today that she will be postponing the start of the second leg of her tour.

The music icon was diagnosed with acute viral infection over the weekend and will be needing bed rest for several days to recover.

The Dressed to Kill concert series—which promises to put the singer back in some costumes from iconic designer Bob Mackie—was set to open in Albany, New York on Sept. 11, 2014, but will now be held Oct. 6, 2014. The Manchester, New Hampshire date is also pushed back to Oct. 7, 2014.

Ticketholders for those two locations can keep their tickets for the rescheduled dates or get a full refund if they are unable to attend. The remainder of the tour is expected to stay the same.

Dressed to Kill, the star’s first tour since her long-running farewell tour that ended in 2005, opened Mar 22 in Phoenix and has played 49 shows already. The star’s latest album, 2013’s Closer to the Truth, debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard Pop Charts and included the hit, “Woman’s World.”

The pop star tweeted “Got to go sing” on Sept. 6th and it’s safe to say she will be doing everything she can to get healthy in time for her loyal fans!
