Katy Perry found herself in an unlikely Twitter feud with rapper Chief Keef earlier this week.
On Tuesday, the 28-year-old pop star tweeted her disapproval of Keef’s song “I Hate Being Sober,” a NSFW track also featuring 50 Cent and Wiz Khalifa. Instead of brushing off the criticism, Keef (real name: Keith Cozart) blew up, spewing hateful epithets at Perry on the social networking site.
What started it all was when Perry tweeted, simply, “Just heard a new song on the radio called ‘I hate being sober’ I now have serious doubt for the world”
It took 17-year-old Keef a few days to take note of Perry’s diss. He tweeted a lewd suggestion, and added, “Ill Smack The S–t out her.”
The “Wide Awake” singer responded to the harsh words, but she took a much classier approach. “Mr. Keef! I’m sorry if I offended you. I heard a lot of people guesting on the song & didn’t even know it was you in particular,” she wrote.
“Actually…,” she added, “I’m a fan of your ‘Don’t Like’ video tbh. I was really just having a general opinion on our generations desire to be constantly intoxicated.”
“Believe me,” she wrote. “I’m a lover not a hater. X”
Keef retweeted Perry’s kind messages, then wrote to her, “Oh Im Sorry Too Then”
Well that was…decent.
