Chris Brown Rejects Plea Deal On Assualt Charge

Chris Brown Court again

Chris Brown has rejected a plea deal which would reduce his charges from a misdemeanour to simple assault.

The singer was arrested outside a five star hotel in Washington, D.C. in October after he allegedly punched a man and broke his nose.

On Wednesday, he was allowed to leave his rehab facility in California – where he is being treated for anger issues – to appear in court for a status hearing as he refused to accept a deal to downgrade the charges.

According to TMZ, police have discovered surveillance video which shows the incident and Brown’s lawyer Mark Geragos won’t agree to any deal until he sees the footage.

The original police report allegedly stated that it was Brown’s bodyguard who threw the punch, but the minder’s charge has also been reduced to a misdemeanour.

The R&B singer along with Christopher Hollosy allegedly punched a man outside the upscale W Hotel in Washington at 4:25 a.m, law enforcement sources have said.

However there have been conflicting witness accounts and Brown has apparently denied punching the alleged victim, claiming the man tried to board his tour bus and his bodyguard ‘handled it’.

Brown has also been accused of making a homophobic slur during the altercation that led to his arrest.

The alleged victim, Isaac Adams Parker, 20, of Beltsville, Maryland, told police that Brown commented: ‘I’m not down with that gay s**t,’ when he attempted to get into a picture that the singer was taking with a female fan.

Parker claims he replied: ‘Why you hoing?’ and Brown answered: ‘I feel like boxing.’

Parker alleges he was punched by Brown and then his bodyguard, and that the singer then went and stood behind the bodyguard and told Parker to ‘walk away’.

Meanwhile, in December Los Angeles Superior Court Judge James R. Brandlin revoked Brown’s probation because of his arrest.

The judge told Brown he is still required to perform 1,000 hours of community labour as part of his sentence for the beating his then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009.

He ordered the singer to return to court February 10 for another update.
