Christopher Schwarzenegger Will Be ‘Back at Full Speed Soon’

The last time Arnold Schwarzenegger thanked fans for their support, it was following his split from Maria Shriver.

But as his son Christopher, 13, recovers from internal injuries in an L.A. hospital following a boogie boarding accident, this time, Schwarzenegger is reaching out with gratitude to those who sent their well wishes to the family.
“Thanks for all your support for Christopher,” the former governor of California, 63, Tweeted Monday night. “It means a lot to me & to him.”

He added of his teenage son: “He’s doing much better & we’ll have him back at full speed soon.”

Shriver, 55, who filed for divorce from Schwarzenegger earlier this month after the actor’s public admission that he fathered a child with the couple’s longtime housekeeper, has stayed at the hospital with her son since Sunday, when he was admitted to the hospital with a collapsed lung and broken bones.

Schwarzenegger has also visited Christopher regularly. “Arnold is a great father,” a source close to the family told PEOPLE. “He and Maria will always come together when it comes to supporting and loving their children.”

Christopher is expected to be released from the hospital mid-week.
