Colin Farrell Heading To Take Part In In Harry Potter Spinoff 'Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them' 2

Colin Farrell has joined the cast of the upcoming Harry Potter spin-off movie, Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them.

The 39-year-old actor is the latest star to be added to the stellar line-up of the hotly-tipped film, which will also star Oscar-winning Brit Eddie Redmayne and Katherine Waterson.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Colin will play the wizard Graves, who Eddie’s character Newt Scamander meets in New York about 70 years before the story of the world’s most beloved boy wizard Harry begins.

It has already been confirmed that Brit star Eddie, 33, will play the leading male role of Newt Scamander.

And Katherine Waterson, 35, will play the female lead, Tina.

It is to be directed by David Yates, who also helmed the last four movies in the Harry Potter franchise.

Earlier this year, Rowling hinted an American version of Hogwarts will feature in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

The best-selling author is currently writing the screenplay for the spin-off movie and she suggested an American wizarding school may be featured in the movie.

In a Q&A session on Twitter, she was asked the name of the ‘US school’ and replied: ‘That information will be revealed in due course.’

Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them was originally a textbook from the Harry Potter universe, on the syllabus for students at Hogwarts.

In 2001, Rowling published the book under the pseudonym Newt Scamander – the book itself purports to be Harry Potters own copy, and features anecdotes and doodles by his friend Ron and a foreword from Hogwarts headmaster Albus Dumbledore.

All proceeds from the book went to the charity Comic Relief.

It features descriptions of 75 different magical creatures found throughout the Harry Potter universe, but only a small few details on Newt himself in the ‘about the author’ section – hence very little information about the film has emerged.

Fans know that Newt is ‘now retired’ and living in Doset with his wife Porpentina, which some have speculated is the Tina character.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is scheduled for release in November 2016.
