Dancing With the Stars Elimination Shocker: A Good Dancer Gets the Boot!

Len Goodman‘s still got it doesn’t he?

The 67-year-old head judge cut a rug on Dancing With the Stars tonight, providing for some very jolly entertainment along with musical guests Mary J. Blige and Estelle.

But the bumpin’ Brit was just the hors d’oeuvre before the pièce de résistance: the elimination.

Last night, Ricki Lake came in first for the second week in a row and Chaz Bono finished dead last. Did either score matter when the final votes were tallied?

Yes and no.

Both celebs were safe tonight, with hosts Tom Bergeron and Brooke Burke not even bothering to make Chaz and partner Lacey Schwimmer sweat it out for the duration.

Instead, it’s Kristin Cavallari who’s headed for the hills.

The blond knockout, who just wasn’t very memorable in the end, was eliminated along with partner Mark Ballas, despite scoring a personal best 24 on their samba that tied them for second place.

Maybe the pressure of out-dancing Audrina Patridge got to her. Or was she distracted by those Lauren Conrad rumors perhaps? Or, maybe she was too busy wondering—just like the rest of us—what’s really going on with Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler, her still superfriendly ex-fiancé who was in the audience cheering her on last night.

Also “in jeopardy” for a while were our vote for Entertainer of the Year, Carson Kressley, and the beautiful-but-boring Hope Solo.

Perfectly safe, in the meantime, were J.R. Martinez, whose rumba this week was inspired by the life-altering year in which he was critically wounded in Iraq; Chynna Phillips, whose rumba was the judges’ encore selection; Rob Kardashian, who dedicated his fox-trot to his late father; and Nancy Grace, whose “lavish assets” stayed firmly in placed during last night’s waltz, which was dedicated to her, um, twins.

The nine remaining contestants keep gunning for mirror-ball glory next Monday, and two-time pro champ Julianne Hough will return for a whirl around the floor next Tuesday with her Footloose costar Kenny Wormald.
