‘Danger Mouse’ Reboot Calls For The Voices Of John Oliver and Lena Headey

'Danger Mouse' Reboot Calls For The Voices Of John Oliver and Lena Headey 2

BBC and Netflix teaming up to revive the famous 80’s rodent spy cartoon Danger Mouse is old news already, and two more characters have been cast recently. John Oliver and Lena Headey will join the cast – Oliver will voice the mad scientist wolf character Dr. Augustus P. Crumhorn III, and Headey will voice Jeopardy Mouse, a U.S. Secret Agent. Both the comedian and the actress are old fans of the series.

“I’ve loved Danger Mouse my whole life. Danger Mouse was a significant part of my childhood. So to get a chance to do it is like getting a chance to step into your childhood, which is both a magical and a potentially hazardous thing,” Oliver says.

“I wanted to do it because it was pure nostalgia for me. I have children now, and it’s just a treat to be involved in something that you loved as a kid and be able to share it,” Headey adds.

Previous cast news confirmed that Stephen Fry will lend his voice to Colonel K, Kevin Eldon will voice Danger Mouse’s sidekick Penfold, and that the main character will be voiced by Alexander Armstrong. A 21st century update has also been announced – Danger Mouse will have an “i-patch” in place of his old eye patch.

Children in the UK will be able to watch Danger Mouse on CBBC (BBC kids channel) this fall, and next spring the series will also be up on Netflix.
