Dave is certainly on a high right now in his acting career. Ever since leaving the squared circle, he’s built quite a name for himself. With the success of Guardians of the Galaxy and the praise over his role as Drax The Destroyer, the doors have really opened up for Batista. Rumor has it that Dave may have found himself another big role as Hinx in the upcoming James Bond film, James Bond 24.
Knowledge of the character first became known after a casting call description was leaked on the internet.
“We are looking to follow in the tradition of JAWS and ODDJOB in finding an iconic baddy.”
“Hinx (Male, 30 – 45)”
“Ideally over 6? 2?. Hinx is the main henchman/assassin. We are looking for an imposing extremely physically fit actor. He has several fights with Bond and will have to have stunt training. He has to drive. We are looking for someone very unusual, possibly from a sports background.”
“Height: 180cm – 195cm”
Oddly enough, Harold Sakata who played Oddjob was also a professional wrestler. Batista definitely fits the build, and according to a couple of news sites, he has picked up the part. This is also backed up by news that Dave will not be returning to the WWE as originally planned.
After Guardians, it was widely reported that Dave had planned to return to the ring for his final run in the wrestling business. At the age of 45, Dave knew that his time left in the ring was limited and wanted to have one more go before hanging up his tights for good. The plan was for Dave to reappear in the Royal Rumble that would build up to his final match at Wrestlemania 31. That plans seems to be no longer the case because filming for James Bond 24 is scheduled to begin this December.
This is certainly a big role for Dave and as a wrestling fan I’m glad to see how his career has unfolded. With that in mind, I thought it would be fitted to post the Dave’s WWE debut.
