De La Soul Deliver Documentary To Show That ‘De La Soul Is Not Dead’

In a year filled with surprise releases from legendary bands of days past, De La Soul’s new album …And the Anonymous Nobody stood out for its sheer scope. But for those familiar with the band’s history, you would know that this is a quality maintained throughout their now decades-long tenure. It is explored even more fully in De La Soul Is Not Dead, a new documentary just posted online, which charts their incredible history.

All three members of the formidable trio (Posdnuos, Dave and Maseo) are on hand to take us through their journey. Starting with their landmark 1989 album 3 Feet High and Rising and right on through their late-career peak Stakes Is High, the documentary also collates opinion from the group’s friends, family members and fellow musicians to offer a well-rounded portrait of what made De La Soul such a singularity in the story of hip-hop.
