Disney is reportedly developing a remake of the 1992 film Sister Act.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film will be written by Kirsten Smith and Karen McCullah of Legally Blone, The House Bunny, and She’s the Man. Cinderella’s Allison Shearmur will serve as the film’s producer.
The original Sister Act starred Whoopi Goldberg as Deloris, a lounge singer placed in a convent to avoid a bounty placed on her head by a mob boss. Plot details for this upcoming remake remain unknown, as does the possibility of Whoopi coming back for another performance.
This is just one of several films from the ’80s and ’90s that are being remade, with Big Trouble in Little China being another.
