Dodge Pulls It's Hellcat From Sales Floor Due To Over Popularity
Dodge has put the pervibiale breakes on Challenger and Charger sales. The auto maker was taken by suprise of sales for the two cars which boast 707hp. The two share the title of “most powerful American production car in history,” and boast top speeds of 199 mph and 204 mph, respectively.FOX News writes: “The automaker was caught off guard by interest in the pair since they were released late last year, and has already received orders for twice as many as it planned to build for 2015. The shortage has led to 50 percent markups on the $60,000-plus by some dealers, while others have reportedly taken dozens of deposits on cars they could take years to deliver, leading Dodge to warn customers of what it called “unscrupulous” behavior”

“Due to unprecedented demand for the 2015 Dodge Charger and Challenger SRT Hellcats, we are temporarily restricting orders while we validate current orders that are in the system,” the company tells FoxNews.com.

In February, the automaker publicly chastised dealers for ordering more Hellcats than the actual number of committed buyers.

“Dodge dealers will receive Hellcat scheduling based on their total Dodge sales in the previous 90 days with verified customer sold orders,” Gualberto Ranieri, FCA US senior vice president of communications, said in a blog posted Feb. 27. “An isolated number of dealers have taken a far greater number of orders than they could reasonably expect to fulfill under the above allocation system.”

For now, there’s no official date when orders will resume, but according to AllParNews, it could be as late as August before Dodge catches up.
