Donald Glover Joining The 'Spider-Man: Homecoming' Cast

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is looking to make an excellent addition with Donald Glover, a.k.a. Childish Gambino, a.k.a. the guy the internet deeply wanted to play Spider-Man a few years ago. And while Glover won’t play the webslinger himself, he is in talks to join Spider-Man: Homecoming.

No word on his potential role yet, or on the emotions of the hardcore #donald4spiderman campaigners. Die-hards already had a small consolation prize when Glover voiced Miles Morales—a half-Hispanic, half-black incarnation of the superhero—in the cartoon series Ultimate Spider-Man: Web Warriors.

Glover hasn’t dropped an album as Childish Gambino since December 2013’s Because the Internet. In October 2014 he shared a mixtape/EP combo, STN MTN / Kauai. His efforts have been much more visible in the film and TV worlds, with memorable roles in 2015’s The Martian and Magic Mike XXL and with an FX series, Atlanta, en route.

Spider-Man: Homecoming will star 20-year-old Englishman Tom Holland, who made a badass debut in Captain America: Civil War. Marisa Tomei, Zendaya and Robert Downey Jr. are also onboard, with Michael Keaton in talks. Get all the info available right here.
