Police have arrested up to 16 people in connection with Kim Kardashian’s Paris Fashion Week robbery, which saw the reality star “held at gunpoint” as over $10 million worth of jewelry was taken from her apartment, Europe 1 Radio and French media have reported.
On 3 October 2016, French police reported that the 36 year-old was robbed at gunpoint by at least five masked men disguised as policemen, who tied her up in her Paris apartment in the early hours of the morning.
Over $10 million worth of jewelry, including a $1.5 million diamond ring gifted to Kim by her husband Kanye West, was taken.
Today’s (Monday 9 January) reports by Europe 1 and RTL Radio say that 15 people have now been arrested over the robbery, thanks to DNA traces left behind.
RTL reports that the perpetrators left the scene on foot and on bicycles, while a Paris police source told Reuters in October that five attackers, wearing ski masks and clothes with police markings, struck around 3am.
The Paris prosecutor could not be immediately reached for comment, Metro reports.
Following the attack, the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star took a break from social media, reportedly in a bid for privacy, but made her return to Instagram last week, sharing a number of home videos of her children North and Saint West, and a selfie with her mum Kris Jenner.
The first KUWTK season 13 promo clip released last Friday also shows Kim fighting back tears as she recalls to Kourtney and Khloé the trauma of what happened. “They’re going to shoot me in the back”, she recalls. “There’s no way out. It makes me so upset to think about it.”
