All good things must come to an end. And for Twilight fans, the saga will be over with the completion of filming Breaking Dawn Parts I and II.
“You can’t really capture it,” Elizabeth Reaser, who plays Esme Cullen, says of wrapping the films. “It’s just so weird to end something like this, to end five movies.
“It hadn’t really hit any of us yet. We were just sort of in shock and happy to be going home.”
Making a grand finale that much more difficult, “We all had different wrap days,” she says. “It was such a complicated experience because [of that].”
Director Bill Condon and most cast members had already departed the Canadian location, leaving Reaser and a small group to complete some additional stunt scenes.
“I was there with Ashley [Greene], Kellan [Lutz] and Jackson [Rathbone], and we had this weird, sort of surreal experience being left over in Sqamish, Canada.”
After the long night shoot, Reaser, 36, decompressed with her costar and on-screen husband, Peter Facinelli.
“We had a little dinner together back in Vancouver,” she says. “We also knew we’d be promoting the movie for a few more years so we felt, ‘It’s not really over just yet.’ ”
Then, she joked, “It’s never going to end.”
