Over 50 music fans were arrested during an Eminem concert in Slane on Saturday night (August 17).
The ‘Love The Way You Lie’ rapper performed in front of 80,000 fans ahead of his headline appearance at the Reading and Leeds festivals next weekend.
22 fans were arrested for public order offences, while another 35 people were arrested for minor drug offences, PA reports.
There were five assaults reported during the concert and another fan was detained for driving under the influence.
Superintendent Michael Devine insisted that most fans did not cause any disruption at the event.
“The vast majority of fans heeded the advice given in advance of the event which ensured everyone had a safe and enjoyable experience,” he said.
There was extra security present at Eminem’s concert after nine fans were injured during violence at a show at Dublin’s Phoenix Park last year.
The rapper unveiled new song ‘Survival’ earlier this week, which will feature on his upcoming eighth studio album.
