This Sunday, millions of kids will be celebrating dear old Dad. But sadly, one Papa who’ll have to spend Father’s Day alone is actor Eugenio Derbez. The Mexican comedian recently revealed that internal family drama will prevent him from seeing his son, Jose Eduardo.
Eugenio famously wed actress Victoria Ruffo back in the 1990’s. And though their marriage didn’t last, they seemed to always be on the same page when it came to raising their son. But lately the situation seems to have taken a turn for the worse.
Jose Eduardo had actually been living with Eugenio in recent months, but constant head-butting led the young actor to move out. Now residing withVictoria, the younger Derbez seems more focused on his acting career than his famous padre.
“Todo fue temporal,” Jose Eduardo said about his previous living situation. “No hubo pleitos ni nada, yo decidí irme un tiempo con mi papá, me fui unos meses y ya.”
Derbez revealed that he wished he was closer to his son and still hopes for a Father’s Day reconciliation. But if that doesn’t happen, let’s hope they can at least patch things up before Eugenio gets tied up with nonstop obligations forhis new CBS show.
