“Is this the life I really wanna live for?” Fergie ponders on her new single, “Life Goes On.”
Had it been released any other week, the song might seem like a pop trifle, if not a nice change-up from the sassy Fergie we heard on summer single “M.I.L.F. $”. But given the psychologically-bruising election results on Wednesday — and, make no mistake: the marketing team on Fergie’s label recognized this — “Life Goes On” is the right anthem to put out there at the exact right time.
This is more your “Glamorous” and “Big Girls Don’t Cry (Personal)” Fergie than “London Bridge” or, as mentioned, “M.I.L.F $” Fergie. And following the latter and “L.A. Love (La La)” two years before it, “Life Goes On” feels like the first step in the right direction a proper radio comeback fit for The Dutchess.
Give “Life Goes On” a listen below, and see if it soothes your frazzled, post-election nerves.
