Forbes Crowns Jennifer Lawrence As The Highest Paid Actress For Second Consecutive Year

When it comes to the world’s highest-paid actresses, Jennifer Lawrence is the victor again.

The Hunger Games star, 26, remained at the top of Forbes’ annual ranking, though this year’s pre-tax income of $46 million didn’t quite measure up to the $52 million she earned last year. A good portion of that $46 million comes from profit sharing from the final Hunger Games movie and her fee for Passengers, a sci-fi film due in December.

Melissa McCarthy, who turns 46 this week, banked $10 million extra in 2016, enough to move up a notch to second with $33 million. She swapped places with Scarlett Johansson, who pulled in $25 million for third place.

The figures were tallied using their income from June 1, 2015 to June 1, 2016 before agent fees and taxes.

Among the noteworthy changes in this year’s list: four women pulled in more than 20 million, up one from last year, and the top 10 combined for a total $205 million. Charlize Theron rejoined the list for the first time in three years while Bollywood and Chinese actresses accounted for 30% of the list.
