FOX Pulls In Carly Rae Jepsen To Play Frenchy  In Live Production Of GREASE

Carly Rae Jepsen has joined the cast of Grease: Live.

The “Call Me Maybe” star will join the Pink Ladies as Frenchy in Fox’s live broadcast of the iconic musical next January. She takes on the role played by Didi Conn in the movie.

Carly joins a cast including Graceland‘s Aaron Tveit as Danny, Julianne Hough as Sandy, Vanessa Hudgens as Rizzo, and Carlos PenaVega from Big Time Rush as Kenickie.

Jessie J will open the live broadcast with a specially reworked version of “Grease (Is the Word).”

Other new cast additions include Kether Donohue from You’re the Worst, who’s playing Pink Lady Jan, and Spare Parts star David del Rio, who’s joining the T-Birds as Putzie.

The original Grease musical opened in 1971 and was followed by a movie in 1978, starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John as Danny and Sandy.

Grease: Live airs on Fox on Jan. 31, 2016.
